Best Wishes card

As promised, here is a card I made using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and the embossed resist technique. First, I stamped the heart image on the tag using VersaMark, and embossed with white embossing powder. I then blended Peeled Paint, Broken China, and Faded Jeans over top. The background panel also got a bit of Faded Jeans. The sentiment was stamped using Peeled Paint, with just a touch of green glitter glue from Studio G. Hemp twine finished it off!

This card is for my friend and co-worker Molly, whose last day of work is today! She is moving on to a great new position, and I'm sure she'll be awesome!

Distress Inks

I am LOVING my new Tim Holtz Distress Inks! I spent a little time playing with them using the awesome tutorials from Two Peas In a Bucket. I am telling you, the 9 week "Thinking Inking" class is one of the best I have ever seen! I have a little trouble viewing the videos from their website, so try going straight to You Tube and search "Thinking Inking".

Here are some tags I made, just playing around. Tomorrow I will show a card using embossed resist with the distress inks.
The bottom tag was inked with Peeled Paint, Broken China, and Aged Walnut. The images are from the SU Garden Whimsy set.
FYI, I tried many applicators (regular sponges, baby wipes, make-up sponges) with these inks, but in the end wasn't happy with the results. I broke down and bought the Ranger ink applicator and pads, and they really do work the best!

Experimenting with Picasa

So, this is what a "collage" created with Picasa looks like. I have seen a lot of this on Bonnie Rose's blog, and I really like the look. I have a mini album to post for tomorrow's Hip Hop Hnagover, and didn't want a separate picture for each page. I think this is the way to go! Once I fooled around a bit, it was easy.

These particular pictures, by the way, were taken last weekend at the National Hot Air Balloon Championship. Girls and I had a great time!

Let me know what you think about the collage look, and let me know if you have any tips or suggestions!

Just us.

I love this picture of me and my husband, taken on our honeymoon almost 9 years ago!

The patterned paper and chipboard flower on this layout are from Me & My Big Ideas, the Fashion District line. Solid green mat is by Prima. The velour ribbon is from Basic Grey. I also used a circle punch from CM to create the scalloped border at the bottom of the pic.

Thanks for looking!

Words to live by....

Wise words from Angela on the Unity blog... love this!

Featured Stamper card

This card was copied from Diane, who is this week's Featured Stamper on SCS. The "rules" of this challenge are to choose a card to copy, but change at least two things. Her original card is here. I kept the stamps, layout, black borders, and the way she cut out and layered the main image. I changed the colors, switched brads for the ribbon, added embossing, and moved the sentiment to the inside of the card.

Supplies:
paper- white, black, blue bayou
stamps- One of a Kind (SU)
ink- blue bayou
other- brads, Sharpie, foam adhesive, metallic colored pencils, embossing folder (Tiny Bubbles)
